Dear Guests,
Welcome to the Holiday Home, La Macciaschina.
We are pleased that you have landed here and want to share with you a bit of the story behind this place. The building, in which our apartments are, is a typical “Cascina” of the Lombardy region and has been owned by our family since 1700. The apartments where our guests stay, were originally a farmhouse with cows living on the ground floor and a barn on the first floor where the hay was stored by the farmers. Over the years our family renovated the first part of this complex in 1981, then again in 1999 and the latest renovation is from 2008.
In the garden you will notice a small private chapel where every year, on the last Sunday of August, we celebrate the festivity of Santa Gaudenzia. Santa Gaudenzia was a first-century Christian martyr who was given as a gift by Pope Gregory XVI to a member of our family, Giuseppe Sebregondi, in 1835. Since then, the relic it has resided in our family chapel, and it has represented a point of reference for the local community.
Despite the proximity to urban centers, this place is for us an oasis of peace, nature and relax and we hope that it can be the same for you during your stay.
